Football History

The boys were in La Manga 2009 having a beer, whilst betting on the football that was on in the sports bar and an idea was born.

Introduced to add a little banter through the year and provide valuable beer money for future tours the predictor game emerged! It sounded easy, take all the Premiership games predict the result and correct score, win the week for bonus points…. Easy…. I don’t think so… add in the spice of bonus and cup rounds and it was a roaring success.

The inaugural competition James won comfortably from Martin with Stutch pulling in the wooden spoon.

Due to the success the tournament was continued the next year. 2011 saw the introduction of two cup competitions along with the League format with James making it a clean sweep of the league and both cups to retain his crown.

The 2012 competition  lead to Joe McDermot taking the football tournament by storm winning the triple, the Leauge Cup, the FA Cup and the Rimini Cup.

The football competiton returned again for the 2013 tour to Edinburgh. This year saw James retain the Cup again, however Dave took the Leauge Cup and Andy taking the FA cup.
